Wipe off all food residue and grease completely

If the handle is made of plastic or wood, attempt to unscrew and separate it

Case 1
Rusted frying pan with peeled Teflon coating: Put it directly in the scrap metal/can recycling bin
Case 2
Pan with wood or plastic handle: Removing handles with a screwdriver and sorting them is recommended, but if too difficult, you can discharge the whole unit to metal recycling
